Tuff-Tarper Series
Tuff-Tarper systems are designed for single-axle, cable hoist and hooklift trucks. These systems can cover open-top containers ranging from 8 feet to 16 feet in length and are available in semiautomatic, automatic and hydraulic versions. Pioneer calls them "the utility knife of the trucking world" because they're so versatile and user-friendly. The HR1500EAL is an ideal choice if you handle same-size containers.
HR1500EAL
The Tuff-Tarper HR1500EAL is powered by a 12-volt DC, direct-drive, right angle, electric motor driven gearbox that provides steady, quiet, efficient movement. A two-way electrical switch provides for quick covering and uncovering. The roller assembly is mounted on top of a fixed gantry. The HR1500EAL comes with heavy duty, reinforced aluminum framework, side-mounted pivot arms. Deployment is made easier by heavy duty reverse-wound torsion springs that assist with pivot arm movement. Switching is made easier to prevent injuries and be more user-friendly. This unit has a fixed gantry (63" from top of chassis) and comes with a 9 feet wide, expandable, heavy-duty mesh tarp.
Notes on Fixed Gantry:
A "fixed" or stationary gantry is adequate for most applications. The difference between the fixed and the adjustable hydraulic gantry is that the adjustable gantry allows you to gently lower the tarp over your load instead of dragging it across, which will significantly reduce damage and wear. All gantries, telescopic or fixed, require 10 inches of clearance for the roller rest, though a fixed gantry can sometimes be modified for limited clearance.
