Product Description
84-CH & 188-CH Silica Cloth Welding Blankets & Curtains
84-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric is a lightweight high silica content (≥96%) fabric that is engineered to withstand welding sparks and light molten metal splatter while protecting personnel and equipment. The superior strength, weave construction, and high melt point 1800°F (982°C) of 84-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric makes this fabric ideal for light welding and spark protection during hot work operations. 84-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric can be used for fabricating all types of welding curtains, blankets, or pads. Fabric properties will be maintained at intermittent temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). Silica Fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing Industries.
188-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric is a heavyweight high silica content (≥96%) fabric that is engineered to withstand welding sparks and molten metal splatter while protecting personnel and equipment. The fabric strength, density, thickness, weave construction, and high melt point of 188-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric makes this fabric ideal for close proximity horizontal welding protection. 188-CH Welding Grade Silica Fabric can be used for fabricating welding pads/blankets, welding drop cloths, stress relief blankets, protective screens/covers, furnace curtains, insulation mats and cable tray wraps. Silica Fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing Industries.
CH Grade fabrics meets Military Specs MIL-C-24576A and MIL-I-24244C upon requests.

CH Grade Silica is the preferred choice in the protection of equipment and personnel in high temperature applications. These are two satin weave silica fabrics from which to choose that can withstand molten metal temperatures and offer protection at continuous temperatures up to 1,800ºF (1,000ºC). All fabrics can be used or fabricated as welding drop cloths, stress relief blankets, protective screens/covers, furnace curtains, insulation mats and cable tray wraps. It depends upon the weight/thickness/strength factors as to the fabric that is the best cost effective choice. CH Grade fabric meets Military Specs MIL-C-24576A and MIL-I-24244C upon request.
